The Skills Innovation Centre (SIC) is a commercially viable co-operative enterprise set up mainly to utilise the skills and expertise of locals in the communities to recycle and repair appliances for the home and export markets. The centre seeks to through its operations
• Supply reconditioned, recycled and reliable domestic appliances at affordable rates to those on low incomes.
• Utilise existing skills and expertise of the disadvantaged in the communities, especially refugees, in repairing and recycling.
• Create employment in the local and surrounding communities.
• Develop technical skills through creating a new accredited training programme and qualification
• Have a positive impact on the environment in transforming redundant goods from waste products to reconditioned white goods.
