Trade Lead Description:
Camail or Aventail often extends to cover the necks and upper shoulders. Each flat ring is closed with a wedge rivet, by hand. This is the classic 4 in 1 pattern and the ring size is 9 mm ID. This aventail is long, on the shoulders and generously sized. It is mild steel, with a oil finish. Note that the expansion of the rings change at the neck, this prevents the bunching of too much mail.
Aventail is a curtain of chain mail that protects the neck by hanging over the shoulders. Also sometimes spelled 'aventaile'. kindly note that we can make coif which has inbuilt aventail as mentioned above or we could make a seperate aventail also.
Maille garments in Europe and surrounding areas used wedge rivets. SN Exports offers you an Authentic "European " style wedge riveted maille which is highly durable as each ring is riveted closed. This means that the rivet of iron shaped like a small wedge & not a round pin. The maille is also light weight since we use 18 gauge wire with 9 mm ID.
