Trade Lead Description:
On line pierce and raise is the punching and raising of a lip on an end plate or baffle plate for box production. This process is also known as extrusion
WHY PERFORM AS A SEPARATE OPERATION ?
Tooling for the pierce and raising of holes as part of the end plate production is expensive and dedicated. These machines use low cost tooling, which is flexible in use, and is based on the quick-change principle. This tooling is easily fitted by operators, thus eliminating the need for setters. As end plates are pierce and raised on line - just in time - it is only necessary to hold stocks of each ‘blank’
end plate section, thus greatly reducing stock levels. Labour costs are reduced, as this operation is usually carried out by the End Seamer operatives, whilst the
boxes are being processed. DOUBLE HEAD PIERCE & RAISE MACHINE
Especially designed for use on line in conjunction with the End Seaming process. The machine should be set up next to the End Seamer, and blank end plate. Posted from UK - North of England on 27 April, 2006
